Covid Distruption to NSW deliveries

28 July 2021

 Dear Valued Customer,

Our Warwick Farm location was affected by COVID on the 26 July 2021, although operations has since stabilised, the site is experiencing delays in

distribution. In addition, the operational demands to continue servicing restricted Local Government Areas (LGAs) remain challenging.

Unfortunately, temporarily Direct Freight cannot accept further consigned deliveries addressed to these restricted LGAs. Before consigning freight

we kindly ask you check and ensure the destination suburb is not within affected LGA.

A detailed list of affected suburbs is attached for your convenience.

Pickups within these LGAs will continue to operate as expected.

Our commitment is that this disruption is short and minimised. Strategies such as extended hours and weekend operations have been implemented

to lessen the disruption.

We apologise for the inconvenience to our valued customer and thank you for your continued patience and understanding in these challenging times.

 Thank You,

 Direct Freight Express

NSW & QLD FLOODS
  • Service Interruptions – NSW and QLD

    24th March 2021

As a result of the current severe weather conditions being experienced in some areas of NSW & QLD, a number of roads may be closed due to flooding therefore inaccessible

Due to the above some pickup and deliveries may be delayed. Impacted areas to the best of our knowledge are :

    • Taree, Port Macquarie, all received their freight and are up to date. Only deliveries where roads remain closed won’t be delivered.
    • Grafton, Ballina and Coffs Harbour depots have received most of their freight with the exception on Campbellfield freight from Monday night
    • Brisbane remains the same with Gold coast hinterland areas and Mt Tamborine and some river suburbs still unserviceable.
    • Sydney outer areas along the Nepean and Hawkesbury river still effected. Deliveries will be attempted where possible.
    • Northern Rivers area still experiencing delays due to road closures and some suburbs unserviceable
    • Wauchope and Taree area still experiencing delays due to road closures and some suburbs unserviceable

Trailers from Campbellfield to Brisbane and Brisbane to Campbellfield dispatched Monday night are unfortunately grounded at Moree, delays are expected.

Furthermore please also note that some line haul routes to and from the above areas have been impacted with destinations re-routed to allow the line haul trailers to be able to get through however have a delayed arrival time.

During this time we do appreciate your patience and understanding.

 Shipping Costs
We have not updated our shipping cost in many years, in that time there have been various changes; our ability to ship and not ship aerosol cans, numerous Australia Post pricing structure changes and the volume of orders we dispatch. This has prompted us to reevaluate our shipping. For the majority of customers this is a good thing as our shipping prices on kits and mixed part orders has been reduced to major locations. We use are using Australia Post less and less, as we have had numerous issues of late with the quality of service.

You may see some changes with your shipping break down depending on your location; we have endeavored to keep any additional shipping fees as transparent as possible to reflect the true shipping cost. Places like W.A., Tasmania, and the Territory will see a reduction in the base shipping cost to align with the rest of the country.  Some more rural locations around the country will have additional surcharges.  It may pay to experiment with the shipping, if you can have an item delivered to a business address or family friend a town or two away there might not be a surcharge.  These fees are location charges from our courier.

The big advantage we have found in using a courier is the shipping cost do not increase dramatically based on the items weight or size. This has allowed us to pass on the biggest savings to our customers.

We kindly ask that you work with us over the coming weeks and report any concerns you have to sales@caswellplating.com.au

Regards

 The Team at Caswell Australia.
